Jordin Sparks, Dana Isaiah Aren't Planning on More Kids

March 2024 · 2 minute read

All set! Jordin Sparks and Dana Isaiah don’t have plans to give their 2-year-old son, DJ, a sibling.

“Yeah, I’m good with one. We’re both good,” the American Idol season 6 winner, 30, exclusively told Us Weekly on Monday, August 17, while promoting her “Sounds Like Me” EP. “I can’t say what’s going to happen in the future, but I’m, like, very sure that it’s still gonna stay just one.”

The singer went on to say that her toddler is “more than enough” and an “amazing” child.

“As a mom, knowing myself and going through this for the first time, I’m just like, ‘You know what? I want to be able to keep my focus on DJ,’” the Arizona native explained. “Because trying to split the attention from Dana to DJ was a lot for me. I’m a giver. I love to be nurturing, and I just don’t know if I’d be able to take care of myself as much if I expanded.”

The “Tattoo” singer gave birth to her baby boy in May 2018, and the little one is reaching many new milestones. “Being able to express what he wants has been really, really nice, especially in this time when he can run around the park [during the coronavirus pandemic],” Sparks told Us. “He sleeps through the night. He’s handled [quarantine] like a champ.”

When it comes to the American Music Award winner’s songs, DJ’s favorite of his mother’s is “Red Sangria,” although he calls it “Buddha.” Sparks told Us, “He’s been singing [my music]. I just sit fascinated, looking at this little ball of love that just makes me smile.”
